What comes to mind when you thing of the most famous engagement ring of all time? Of course Princess Diana, the stunning oval sapphire and diamond ring, that is now of course Kate Middletons. Prince William surprised everyone with giving his moms ring to Kate.

Sales of the engagement ring

Well the same day the stores were selling out in the states for this ring, just like when Princess Di got engaged to Prince Charles in 1981. The ring was made by Garrard and cost 28,000 pounds; it is now worth in the region of 250,000 pounds. The jewelers Kenneth Jay Lane in the States are working extra hours to make replicas of the ring. The replicas in England are called the Lady Diana Royal engagement ring they range from 179 pounds upwards. Some of them are smaller versions of the stone and some are stimulated stones.

Yes a sapphire is a crystal at the end of the day, as well as a diamond. They both come out of the earths crust, people tend not to think of them as crystal, but they sure are. Just been polished and shined to a high quality.
